Decklist: Benaiah, Paragon of Prowess

Want some inspiration for building a Paragon deck? To help you get started, here's a decklist featuring everyone's favorite spear-snatcher.

Benaiah is one of the first Paragons I designed. He is very fun for deck-building because his ability allows you to build an army of all your favorite warriors and weapons.

As a reminder, when you build a Paragon deck, your Paragon requires exact numbers of cards in the different categories. BaboonyTim's deck-builder is super helpful because it keeps track of each total for you:

12 Purple

There are lots of great Purple options for the deck, so feel free to use whichever are your favorite.

As you would expect, the Benaiah Hero is an excellent choice because there are so many weapons for him to use.

In addition to all the warriors and weapons, the deck includes Great Plunder and Return of the King. Great Plunder is one of the best Enhancements in the game, and Return of the King is particularly helpful in Paragon, because having multiple opponents provides lots of banding targets.

13 Other Good

The "Other Good" category includes Good Dominants, of which there are 4 obvious choices.

Another inclusion is David's Stronghold, which is excellent because it protects all your good warriors and weapons (not just the purple ones) and because it even protects them from opponents' band abilities (not just harm).

The rest of the good cards are some of the best non-purple warriors and weapons, including a package of Joshua cards. Spies at Ai and Valiant Warrior are both stronger in the Paragon format due to the extra opponents to target.

5 Neutral

The Neutral requirement includes both Artifacts and dual-aligned cards.

David's Harp and Idol of Nebuchadnezzar may be surprising choices for Artifacts, but they are stronger in Paragon. Idol of Nebuchadnezzar can even capture a Hero from a different opponent than the one who played the CBN card.

The dual-aligned warrior and weapons from Israel's Inheritance were easy choices, especially Snatched Spear.

10 Pale Green

To meet the Pale Green requirement, I simply included the best Egyptian warriors and weapons, plus Divination for a card selection effect.

The Dreaming Pharaoh and Pharaoh Ramses II are great for blocking, because the deck has a few negates for them to use in case opponent has enhancements that can get around their protect abilities. The Dreaming Pharaoh can also take Pharaoh's Throne Room from Reserve.

Huge Egyptian and Egyptian Charioteers are extra helpful in the deck because there are so many useable weapons for them to take (even dual-aligned ones that you can save for your Heroes to use).

10 Other Evil

This is the category in which the required quantity is a difficult limit. There are countless warriors and weapons that would be great to include, but we are limited to 10.

This 10 also includes Evil Dominants (with the remaining Dominant slots). All three of the Evil Dominants have discard abilities, which can sometimes be used to steal opponents' weapons (via the Benaiah Paragon's special ability). Murderous Command has plenty of targets, and Goliath can be kept in Reserve until you are ready to play Warrior Overtaken.

Nebuchadnezzar is one of the strongest warriors in the game. He and Arioch are also searchable via Idol of Nebuchadnezzar.
